Have an IRS related problem?  We are here to help guide & protect you.

Do I really need to hire a tax attorney?

If you owe a small amount, you can likely handle the issue on your own, but when the debt is larger or more complicated it’s best to work with a tax attorney who knows the law and how to negotiate with the IRS. Here at Babbitt Tax Law, we offer an initial FREE consultation. By the end of the consultation, you will know exactly where things stand and that point you can make an educated decision as how to proceed.

I have a tax problem. What do I do?

Your best bet is to contact me and we will work on handling all issues with your taxes and the IRS right away so the problem does not get bigger and out of hand.

Can a tax attorney help with any other legal issues besides tax problems with the IRS?

No. At Babbitt Tax Law, we deal specifically with tax issues that involve the IRS, whether it’s an individual or business tax issue regarding audits, late filing or being unable to pay back a tax bill. Other legal matters need to be dealt with by another attorney who specializes in that field of law.

Will I get in trouble with the IRS if I hire a tax attorney to help me?

No, the IRS does not have a problem working with an attorney and does not use it against you. The IRS understands that tax attorneys know the tax law so that the issues can be resolved faster and easier.

Can’t I just call the IRS and fix this tax issue myself?

You can, but the process can be difficult, and you could create more problems for yourself. The IRS is not working to help you, so they will not provide you with helpful advice or information. In fact, they may ask information about your place of work, assets, and banking information as a means of collecting the debt from you. It is almost always better to have an attorney contact the IRS on your behalf.

Am I able to get a tax penalty removed?

Quite possibly. Based on very specific requirements, the IRS provides penalty abatement for a first time penalty or based on reasonable cause. Depending on your circumstances we might be able to get the IRS to lessen or remove the penalty, which can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Is there a way I can pay less back than I owe?

We understand many people cannot afford to pay back their substantial tax debt. If we can get you to qualify for an Offer in Compromise (OIC) or a Currently Not Collectible (CNC), then you can either pay less or have payments put on hold until your financial situation improves.

If I cannot pay back the IRS, how can I pay a tax attorney?

At Babbitt Tax Law, we can figure out a payment plan that works with your current financial situation to pay back services provided.

How do you charge for your tax relief services?

We usually charge a flat fee that is unique to each client and their issues at hand. You don’t need to worry about hidden fees or additional costs. We will work out a plan together.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, the first consultation is free. This consultation can be done in person at my office in Bonita Springs, over the phone, or via video call. Based on what you tell me, I will let you know if it makes sense for you to hire me, how I can help you, and how I will resolve your tax issue.
